Something New, Something Different. Announcing the new Maui International® Marathon and Half Marathon (MIM). Train for one marathon or half marathon and make it count for two through our unique CourseOverlay®. Or come to Maui and run the course in person.
Here are some of the details. To register for the new Maui International® Marathon and Half Marathon (MIM).. This is just the beginning of something new and different!
What Is The CourseOverlay®?
To participate in the Maui International® Marathon (MIM) or Half Marathon, the CourseOverlay® requires you to run a marathon or half marathon at another event where we can get a course layout with elevation gains/losses so we can overlay it (hence the name, CourseOverlay®) on the Maui Paradise® Marathon or Half Marathon courses. Based on the CourseOverlay® we will create a handicap rating for you. This handicap will be comprised of many factors. Once you have completed your main event, send us your time to receive your MIM time. In other words, your effort will be usable in two locations!
What if I want to run the course on Maui? When can I do that?
Running the course on Maui is another way for you to participate in the MIM. We will make available our new courses for both events that you can download from the website. You can run on any day at any time. You can also start anywhere on the course if you don't want to use the listed starting and finishing lines. Both courses are out and back with the marathon being in two segments. You are on the honor system for your time and you have to make your own arrangements for fluids, gels, etc.
Maui Paradise International® Marathon Event Date
The 2010 MIM starts now and ends on December 31, 2010. Lots of time to train and just do it. Don't be encumbered by a fixed date to perform. When you are ready, go for it.
Registration and Fees
Registration information will be posted shortly on the website. The fee is US$45 and includes a shirt and medal. These will be mailed to you after you have reported your run. You can even register after you have run!

Other discounts for activities like whale watching tours, zip line rides, golf, eating, snorkel and scuba tours to mention a few of the activities you might want to do will be posted on line as they become available.
2011 Event: The Maui Paradise Marathon and Half Marathon is planned for January 16, 2011. Because there will be a cap on participation for both events, there will be qualifying standards as well as numerical limitations by age, gender, and areas of the world. By participating in the 2010 Maui International Marathon or Half Marathon you will have priority for entering for 2011 within a certain time frame at a discount without having to meet the other criteria.
